My first major war-wound!!

So i was in a mad rush at work, and reached quickly for my kife. The handle was partially hanging off the cutting board and i ended up knocking it on to the floor. The blade (which was facing away) spun, and sliced deep into my tumb just behind the knuckle. I felt a bite like i might have been cut, and look down to see my hand completely covered

I wasnt even cutting anything. i had just cleaned off my table and went to grab my knife to clean it, and knocked it off the table which caught my thumb as it fell

Ive never cut myself while actually using my knife.
