Today we took my cat Kiri to the vet and gave him freedom from his arthritis, his asthma, his diabetes, his kidney disease, his thirst and pain. It was not easy but it was the right decision for all of us. We did everything we could for him, but it was time. He couldn't even sleep comfortably anymore. The last few says, he just enjoyed being

Thanks so much. (((huggs))) When Neutron left us, it had been more than 15 years since we said goodbye to a cat friend. To have Kiri leave so soon afterward was tough, even though it was the right thing to do. I'm ready for another long, dry spell. ^^;;

I would build that teleporter if I could. But now I can say that traveling will be easier to do in the future... so keep that hug warm, you never know when you'll be able to use it. ^___^

I don't even feel traitorous or guilty to think that I will be happy not to be doing all the work & fussing over him any more. Because when he passed, it was clear he was happy he wouldn't have to be worked on & fussed over, too. Heidi, he looked so peaceful -- even in Ruth's office before he got the sedative. He was so ready.

I hope to have that grace someday. But not for a long, long, long time.
