I need to get away from poetry
I am not a poet. The poems I have written in the past have all rhymed, ABABABCC. I like words that sound good, and overdramatic imagery ( Read more... ) -
the language of love is the language of liars
In Chinese, the word for friend is 朋友. 朋 looks like the character for moon (月) a sweet, lovely thought, yes -friendship is two moons together in the dark night.
This, however, is not the case. 朋 actually comes from the character for meat (肉) like two pieces of meat stuck together, like one piece of meat cleaved in twain.

Airport writing:
The last time I was on a plane, it almost crashed. The last time I was at an airport I cried so it felt like I was breaking and then I didn't feel so broken anymore.
Our plane is delayed. People are kissing. I am on the other side of the gate. There is someone whom I am missing.
I think I'm in too deep. Take me higher.

A note
I should probably mention I'm doing a writing dump because I'm trying to get on staff for a zine, and the editor is asking for links to samples.
