Didn't get my letter of rebuttal in today (had two frivolous ones in recently) so hope that in tomorrow's edition someone else on the same subject writes a better one. Book
Got to record this moment! A plot point just popped up and fixed itself - a case of killing two birds with one stone. This is a rare experience, it usually isn't so neat. Even better than solving sudoku 'diabolical'. -
Work
Have made deadlines for self to make things happen! Problems of being one's own boss. Dilatoriness creeps in and takes over. Work is a case of too many projects. Want to score songs and want free softwear! Want to finish bible study, fix poems on site or add another one, write protocol for writers group gatherings, finish book. Famous Writer
Very famous actually. And he has pinched my lead female character's name. Shows one shouldn't dither with novel drafts for as long as I have. At least the surname of my character is different - but I was thinking of changing it to a shorter one (like the famous author uses! - just as well I forked out for his expensive book) because I can't ( Read more... ) -
Government Assistance
Why do I feel so unassisted. My little writers' website is now reliably at top of google when you put in the full title New Writers Group Incorporated only not on its own two legs. Via the Govt cultural portal. Not the outcome I was after. All I wanted was a listing - like in a phone book. But even that is dodgy - put our key words into their ( Read more... ) -
Parramatta Park
Took Nana Jean to Parramatta Park Cafe - inventive name. It overlooks our brownish Parramatta river which must be reasonably healthy because there were a ton of birds there - egrets, ducks, a goose, cormorants, all proving something is alive and well under the water. Dead Europe - Christos Tsiolkas
This novel depicts a decadent, worldly, post communist greater Europe. The gay protagonist finds nasty sex and anti-semitism at every turn of his drug-fuelled trip into the cursed past of his Greek history. The work is well structured and for the main well-written; as David Marr says Tsiolkas has a "genius for establishing place, mood and character ( Read more... ) -

Did you see the article in the SMH about the aussies who were rescued by a journalist team with a helicopter? Better than waiting for the cavalry it seems. Will there be any criticism from Australian Govt if aussies die in this (let alone all the other poor people)? 24 hours ago I had no idea how disorganised and desperate it all is. Floods
This is not the right music. Beethoven is in a really good mood. Saw a lady on TV saying she couldn't believe she was in America - that the floods made her city look like devastation in a third world country and to be sure from the pictures we're getting here, I'd have to agree, it looked like the Indonesian Tsunami. New website
I've finally got up my evolver website and fixed the size of the pics (thanks Dave for the hint) and got rid of a couple of unnecessary frills. Be nice to have a photo of myself but can't find a nice enough one! Maybe going back ten years in the albums might help or a face lift.
