lately things have been....okay. I don't get to talk to Ben as much as I had been able to, due to him being in school now, and an E-5, and idk. I miss him so much. I really seem to have the worst luck.
So, Ben left in November for Iraq. In December, my little Honda blew up and ceased to be. I had to learn to drive his car, which was a stick shift. I love it now, but driving in a standard in honolulu traffic is not very fun. Anyway, in January, the Mazda started acting up, so I took it for a diagnostic test, which came out fine. So, yeah. Christmas. I've had the last 3 days off, and though it's been great-i realized that if i have too much time by myself i just get emo and lame. I've been sitting here, either on the computer or on the couch, waiting for Ben to get online. Ugh.
So, Ben left 5 days ago. I'm taking it day by day, which seems the best route instead of trying to imagine how long a year is-which makes me feel lost. December 1st will be 10 years since we started dating, and in that whole time we've never been apart more than a few months at a time. i don't know how people go through deployment after deployment ( Read more... ) -

i guess i pretty much just have this account for ontd_twatlight and ontd_trublud which kind of makes me sad because lj used to be awesome. i guess it's went the way of opendiary.

as this is memorial day weekend, i haven't been able to escape the memories of our country and this war we're in now. Our local paper, every memorial day, prints a big piece with all the pictures of everyone who has died serving the military since last memorial day. I was looking through it yesterday, seeing all those faces...imagining all the ( Read more... )
