school's going fine. i'm actually (mostly) keeping up with grading. amazing. my kids are mostly pretty good, and i'm starting to get closer to a few of them. they like me!

today at school, we were under lockdown for about 30 min. there was a violent incident in the community, and the perpetrators ran off, so they locked the local schools just in case. i'm glad this was a "minimal" lockdown: didn't have to turn off the lights, cover the windows, and duck under tables. scary stuff. -
