Still no news re the job, so I imagine they are negotiating with the preferred candidate - who isn't me. No one has been in touch with my referees - so not looking like I made it.

As I still don't know for sure, I can't really get over it. I want to know dammit ! It was a week ago today - they should have made a decision by now.

This past Saturday I got made a Life Member of the NZ AIDS Foundation. Overall, it was a very special occasion, especially as I got to take my mother. She's never been around such a diverse crowd of homos before, but at 79 she handled it all with great aplomb. It's my birthday today - 49 - and my mother and the brother who is speaking to me (Mark) and his wife (Philippa) took me out to dinner. We went to a really nice but simple bistro in Parnell.
