I'm back. Haven't decided what I want to put here, so I may just ramble or post silly things. Near nobody will read any of this, but that's fine, because I enjoy talking to myself. Seeing the things I wrote years ago reminds me of what a silly twit I've been, and that's always a good thing.

It is real, and it is done. At the end of this month, I will be a former UIC employee, and I will begin my new life in the private sector. It still doesn't feel quite real. I mean, I've been at UIC in one form or another since August of 1996. Madness!

Now begins the lame duck period of my tenure as king of parking tickets...

I just finished reading George Orwell's 1984. That book is frightening in a way that nothing produced since I was born has been. I might discuss it a bit more later, if only for my own edification.

Yep, spring semester has left, and it has taken my assistant with it. Unfortunately, it looks like I won't get to hire my next assistant myself.
