I know this isn't really a political community... but i love politics and the political comms don't really care about the view of military spouses.

I know he likes to make his case that he cares about dependents. But I had NEVER heard the story behind ( Read more... )

I didn't see the commercials, so I can't speak for that.

But I have noticed that McCain seems to be using the military to get what he wants. I'm not sure if he really cares about us or our men, or if he just cares about winning the presidency. It's almost like he doesn't have to try because he was a POW, and he will get the votes from the military community because of that. While I think he is a great war hero, I don't necessarily believe that will automatically make him a great president.

Just my 2 cents.

And just to add on to that. I like that I don't hear Obama talking about the military every time I turn around. McCain seems to talk about it a lot, trying appealing to the patriotic American.

In the end, whoever is going to win, is going to win (duh), and whatever is going to happen, is going to happen. I don't like the military to be used as political pawns.

I agree. I definitely respect that fact that he was a war hero and all the things he went through. But that's not a good enough reason to make someone president. He needs to be talking about the present and the future, not the past.

To me, it says a lot. I'm still digesting what I've read. I'm not sure how my husband is voting and I don't vote as I'm not american. But I know that I wouldn't vote for McCain anyway not just because of this article but for other things I've read and how he seems just more of the same Good Ol' Boys club.

I didn't see the commercials. I'm still voting Obama, especially because my husband is in the military. I don't see anything changing with McCain in office. I never supported Bush, and McCain just shadows a lot of what Bush stands for.

i'm not going to vote for either of them. I've heard so much that i don't like about Obama and i don't like McCain either. I think the "Change" Obama's going to make will be for the worse, not the better.

haha, PLEASE tell me you're joking about the Huckabee comment. Pretty please?????

I respect that you don't like either. There isn't a candidate that I whole heartedly agree with, but when it comes to my 2 biggest voting issues (the war and the supreme court nominees), Obama has the answers I like.
