Two things I've seen on Fringe lately that, as someone who works in a molecular biology lab, caught my attention:

So, J passed his doctoral defense today, so he'll be graduating with his Ph.D. on Dec. 17!

His committee only questioned him for 20 minutes! Mine questioned me for a mind-boggling HOUR and my brain felt dead afterward.

Now we both need to find jobs. >_

After I had watched the "The Rocky Horror Glee Show" episode of Glee, a friend pointed out to me that I would probably get more out of seeing the episode if I had actually seen "The Rocky Horror Picture Show" before. So, since this friend also owns the DVD, I borrowed and watched it.

It's almost Halloween and I've no costume. Sad.

I found a hat on Ebay that would be perfect for an Ema Skye cosplay. I think I'll get it. It's too late for this year's Halloween, but maybe I'll go to a convention next year and actually be able to make a costume (dissertation, graduation, family reunion, and job search took up too much of my free ( Read more... )

I passed my final defense!!!

On August 7, 2010, I will be graduating with a Ph.D. in Biomedical Sciences -- Genetics.

Hooray!

Oh, and about a week and a half ago, the bf proposed so we're now engaged. =)
