Eventually, Sayu was able to get Taemin to admit there was at least something between the two vampires, but he wouldn’t go into detail what or how he knew. After he left, she sent out a few probing texts to see if she could get another contact to talk to her. Taemin was usually her go-to source because he tended to know more about the past of vampires than she could get any of them to admit to her. This time he was deliberately holding back on her for some reason.

Sayu looked at her watch. They had been talking for a while, so it was just after four. She vowed to stay out as long as she could before going back. It was as good a time as any to check around her new home. A cab too her from the little town outside of Seoul where the café was, back to her little town a bit further outside of Seoul. She walked all around, finding cute shops she wanted to remember and mentally decided some were too expensive. It was well after dark before she decided she was bored and went home.

When she stepped up to the door, she prepared for a fight. She wasn’t as angry as she was that morning, but she definitely wanted to make it clear how she felt, whether he cared or not. Sayu put her hand on the knob but it wouldn’t turn. It was locked. “Oh, that’s very sweet of you.” She sighed and knocked on the door, hoping they were still home now, instead of hoping they weren’t.

The door cracked open and Minho peeked through it and then swung it wide open when he saw her. “Sayu! We were looking for you.”

She stepped inside as she said, “We?”

He closed the door behind her and walked over to the couch, picking up a phone and dialing. “Yeah Jonghyun and Onew went out looking and I stayed in case you came back first. Well Jonghyun made me stay but… Why didn’t you leave a note or something?” When the phone went up to his ear he paused and started talking into it, “She’s here, she just showed up. No, I haven’t. Sorry Jonghyun but you said as soon as she got back not after… okay.”

Minho hung up the phone and sat down on the couch. He patted the seat next to him and then picked up a packet of blood from the table and sucked on a straw stuck into it. Sayu grinned at him, “Is that like a blood juice box?”

He laughed, “Yes. Sit down. You’re supposed to stay put until he gets back.” He motioned to the couch again.

Sayu shook her head, “If he’s mad I’m just going to leave again. After I get my laptop back.” She started for the hallway that lead to the bedrooms, talking loud, “Why didn’t any of you just call me? Jonghyun got me a phone and I had it with me all day.”

“He didn’t take down the number apparently…” Minho answered back, trailing off when she walked into her room. Finally, her laptop was sitting back where it was and she scooped it up, turning to walk back out. Minho stood at the door with his juice box. “Would you stay, please?”

“I am not in the habit of waiting around for someone to yell at me. I’ll give you my number and you can call me when he’s not crazy.” She pulled out a pen and looked for a piece of paper when she heard the door shut. Sayu glared at the closed door and walked to it, trying to turn the knob, but it, too, was locked. “Hey let me out Minho!”

He leaned on the door feeling her beat on the other side with her fists and hearing her make pained noises when she stopped. Minho talked loud so she could hear him, “I’ll get in trouble if you leave so just stay in there. Sorry. But not really.” He went back into the living room and pressed play on his movie.
