What kind of work are you looking for?

I did office temp work for 10 years - loved it so much. I was really good at it, was registered with three agencies who were very consistent at keeping me working.

It's years later now - different skill set I'm sure, and probably different ways that the offices place people. I called every week to touch base even if I was on a contract, and I called every morning if I was available, to discuss if my skills might fit anything that comes across their desk. That way, I was fresh in their mind when something that matched me came up.

I'm with one agency. I am looking for office work, admin, reception type work. I called this morning, seems like they only want me to call once a week. I may call a couple of times this week. I know something will come up. Just being impatient.

And unfortunately these are tough times. With all the Gov't lay offs as well, the market will be flooded with unemployed people.

There is a small.... SMALL ... part of me that wishes they'd offer me a package... sigh.

I know it's tough times. This wasn't the best time for me to change careers, I wish my body hadn't been giving out on me, and causing me pain. I'm hoping being with an agency will get me at least a little experience, and someone will know I'm a good worker. I'm lucky I don't HAVE to work to make ends meet. I know there are people out there who are far worse off than me.

I feel for ya. I'm not sure how I would deal with a job I wasn't happy in. You are strong girl! Sendin all the mojo to you I can spare.
