Darn that Yarn Harlot! She has put out a challenge, the Knitting Olympics. The idea is that everyone that accepts the challenge will cast on during the opening ceremonies and be finished by the closing ceremonies just 16 days later. Not so bad right? Well, the challenge asks us to do something that "must be a challenge for you to complete in 16 ( Read more... )

I'm having a bad hair week too. It's so staticy today that I have a makeshift headband using a long scarf to tie it back. I need about 4-5 inches trimmed off. And maybe a new color.

I have a friend who wants to be on WNTW. I have lots of co-workers that SHOULD be on. I would never go on it because that psycho hair guy always tries to bully people into cutting long hair off. I think he has issues.

Yay! My hair doesn't suck today! Maybe it is a sign of a good hair year to come. I am 3 months overdue for a haircut. I wonder if that could be part of my problem?

I love fun socks. YAY!

Happy happy birthday. *throws confetti* Um, can we consider my buying your yarn as an early b-day gift?

*hugs* I hope the rest of your week goes wonderfully.

Good luck with the vest! I spun up the yarn for a sweater for myself...it took the whole summer to spin it up...(only took that long b/c we don't have A/C and who wants to spin while your sweating? I was also working two jobs.. Waitressing sucks up a LOT of energy...

anywho. but it only took me like two weeks to knit it. lol Doesn't that just figure. I wish I had a drum carder. I can't believe you made that yarn with all those different colors.

So, I have been feeling a rising panic about this choice. You are not helping! ;-)

I think I will have to card and spin some of it before the opening ceremonies. I am going to switch from hand carding to drum carding. That will take some fiddling. Acckkk! What have I done?!?

Waitressing is one of the worst jobs around. I hope I never have to do it again. You worked 2 waitressing jobs? Wow! That is brutal.

When I worked as a waitress (I know am I not the person you were talking to about this) I had to work 14 hours shifts. *shudders* Never again.

Ahhh my family threatened to sign me up for that show, even though people I know tell me I always look nice and like my sense of style. I think it's b\c my family only sees me around-the-house, at my most ghetto. I'd love free clothes\makeover, but what I'd be worried about is that they'd want me to get rid of all my fave comfy stuff! That's suck big time.

43 *is* a good number! It makes me think of math like the crocheted math problems -- in a positive way, and full of opportunity for discovery.

Families are sometimes the last people to understand. After all you pick your friends and inherit your family.

Crocheted math problems? Tell me more.

Ooh, the math problems... well, the most notable one is the crocheted chaos. But there are others like crocheted hyperbolic planes... dah, I know there are more out there, but I can't for the life of me think of where!
