Hadn't realise how long it's been since I posted on LJ. Was re-reading posts and noticed I hadn't posted since daughter #1 got engaged. Since then daughter #2 has married too and daughter #3 is marrying in May 2013. We have 2 more grandsons from son and daughter #1 respectively, and hope we'll have some more one day ( Read more... ) -
Update in February
Happy Valentines Day to those who celebrate. After 30+ years of married life we don't need one special day to be romantic, every day is Valentines. Now if you believe that, you ARE a hopeless romantic, LOL. Life is interesting at the moment !!
Wow, can't believe how long it's been since I posted here. Update on the TV Polonaise costume, have asked for it to be returned so I can enlarge the armscye and reduce the fullness of the neckline lace, a couple of jobs I'm not looking forward to because I make my costumes so securely that undoing seams and hand stitching can take a long time!

Sewing Flat Out !
The fitting of the TV 1873 Polynaise was very enlightening. The client had a very stooped figure and I needed to slash the CB and add several inches in a wedge through to the waist. And the sleeves wouldn't even go up her arm. Just shows that grading up a pattern doesn't always work for the larger sizes, as arm girth usually goes up with bust size ( Read more... ) -
Circus nearly completed, bring on the 1880's Polynaise!!
The past few weeks has flown by although not because I've been overly productive. I've finished an order for 2 Cirque de Soleil type clowns and a Fortune Teller, just have to finish the old fashioned Circus Strongman and I can move onto the next big project. I haven't left town!!
It's been so long since I've posted people must think I've left town! As expected, the bathroom re-building work has taken a LOT longer than anyone predicted, in fact I took the first shower in our new room just this Saturday. The tiler had to return 5 times to make good problems, not the least of which was grout which turned back to sand on the ( Read more... ) -
Where did February go?
I can't believe it's already the last week of February!! Progress on the re-building of the bathroom and laundry has been slow but steady. Quite a few problems, not the least of which is that the new loo has been installed askew!! The site manager has been sent to Queensland on another job, so has handed over to another builder from the same ( Read more... ) -
Another eventful week passes
After a short stint in special care nursery for the baby with low blood sugar levels, DD#1 took Amelie Jane home (via her air conditioned MIL's house) on Friday afternoon. We've had extremely hot temps lately, with very high 30's C and even 41.5 some days. Then on Monday evening Di phoned to say she was back in hospital with a suspected Staph ( Read more... ) -

What an exhausting week we've had around here. Firstly the Insurance Company appointed a builder to make good our home after the recent fire. So far so good. Then the Insurance company rang to ask if the builder phoned us yet to sign contract and talk about starting repairs.
