No, I didn't visit a nudist colony in the holidays, not that there's anything wrong with being a nudist..
Christmas finally arrived at our house, and I did put up all the Santa figurines. I now have 43, due to some being received as Christmas gifts, and buying 4 or 5 myself over the break. They're actually pretty spectacular when all displayed ( Read more... ) -
It can't be nearly Christmas already !
The Dancing Studio end of year Show was fabulous on Monday night, all the costumes I made were great and well received. I was sitting next to the OTHER dressmaker ( L. ) who made most of the lycra stuff. I had to bite my tongue several times when there were costume malfunctions and some of the pudgier girls looked hideous in lycra low slung skirts ( Read more... ) -
Interesting times at my place
Where to start? Since I last posted things have been "interesting" around here.
The refurbishment of the 1840's Payten bed at Hambledon cottage is complete, with new soft furnishings completed by the small group of volunteers led by me finally installed at the end of October and launched to the Guides and members of the Historical Society to much ( Read more... ) -
10 things I've done in October so far!
Can't believe it's the last weekend in October tomorrow. Where has it gone? I feel like I've worked through a lot of my to-do list though. So far this month I've
1. Made 2 1820's working womans costumes for guides at an historic house
2. Made a dress for a regular super-sized client
3. Made about a dozen ATC's to trade at my online group

A fabulous weekend!
This has been one of the best weekends I've spent for quite a while. The Australian Miniature Enthusiasts Assoc. held 2 days of UFO's and workshops at Linnwood which was great for me as I'm on the Friends committee, a key holder to the property and it's literally 5 minutes walk to get there.

Spending money
This Nana thing is quite "strange" but in a good way I think. I've started carrying a small photo album in my handbag and drag it out everytime someone enquires about the new grandchild! OMG I'm turning into my mother!!!

OMG I'm a Nan !!
Not sure if I'm ready or not, but Riley John was eager to join us and so has arrived 2 weeks early at 9.20 pm on 29th August. For the fans, he weighed 3.1 kg (6lb 12 oz) and is 55 cm ( 21.5 inches) long. He has sparse brunette hair at the moment, as is SO CUTE you just want to eat him. It's been a busy month!!
It's been a while since I posted. The news is all good for my SIL who heads back to hospital for her 2nd round APL treatment on Monday after learning she is probably in remission already. All her blood tests and bone marrow test came back normal after just 37 days of the clinical trial of the new Arsenic based chemo treatment. She did lose her ( Read more... ) -

I found this lovely icon at olde fashioned and I thought it was time for a change. After all, Life is becoming more complicated by the day, with SIL having her treatment in hospital for APL and FIL's future living arrangements needing to be discussed. Like goes on.
I'm a terrible, nasty selfish person. I must be, because my poor SIL is undergoing treatment for APL in hospital for 37 days in total, and all I can think about is how it effects me. I have FIL staying at my house, and another person underfoot has really slowed my "routine" down to an absolute crawl. I dwell on the thought that if she doesn't ( Read more... )
