Sometimes I get the urge to live out my childhood dream and devote (at least some part of) my life to making video games. It usually goes away fairly rapidly. How is it that things like the holocaust, the Rwandan massacres, or even the Cronulla race riots occur?

I watched Hotel Rwanda last night. I just don't understand how people could be so blinded by hatred. I really don't.

I think people would think a lot more about animal welfare issues (which might in due course lead to discussion of animal rights) if the animal products they ate featured informative labelling of how the "product" came to the market.
