I bought some pulleys that will come in handy for the spit roaster, they cost $20 for the lot and look pretty useful.

I've decided to build the ultimate spit roaster, I was browsing trademe last night and happened to stumble upon a couple of bits that will make it perfect, the first is a reduction gear, this takes the full speed of an electric motor (which I have) and slows it down by a 10-1 ratio it also changes the direction of the motor which is helpful.
