Canterbury Faire
I quite look forward to Canterbury Faire, I washed and dried all my garb even my cloak yesterday, it was brilliantly hot and dry and 4 loads of washing took almost no time at all ( Read more... ) -
My Cottage
I have started painting my cottage using a timber stain with linseed oil in it, the colour is called nutmeg, I painted the steps too, I want to get some mesh or tread for the steps as they can be quite slippery when there is a frost, I have attached a dual tank LPG set and rain hood, you can see it on the right, I painted the rain hood with enamel ( Read more... ) -

A Lathe
With the numbers of projects I have that require a lathe building up, I thought I should get one, I really enjoyed using the treadle lathe at Canterbury Faire, though found it difficult to concentrate on treadling and holding the chisel with both hands at the same time and keeping my balance so an electric one will be quite a luxury I think, I ( Read more... ) -
Bricks and BBQs
My brick trowel arrived, it's Italian and much larger than I expected, not that I had any idea what size it should be, I have about two pallets of bricks and I plan to make a Braai (South African style BBQ) and a large wood fired bread oven, and now that I have read that book on gauged brickwork, I'm pretty keen to add a few fancy bits to the ( Read more... ) -

I was rummaging through my shed looking for something and I came across the spear head that I bought a couple of faires ago and misplaced and then it got rusty and was then put somewhere safe so I could fix it up at some point ( Read more... ) -
Candles and Meat Slicers
I decided to start using livejournal again, I'm sick to death of the lack of features in facebook, I'll be posting links to my journal entries to facebook, but I'll be shitted if I'm going to keep using facebook's featureless interface for posting messages anymore, unless I only need to say something short which is a small percentage of the time. How I spent my Tuesday
