I'm SO ready for school to be over! Even though I'm going to be teaching summer school, it's a fresh start, and is over at 1:15 every day! My kids are totally fried, the ones who aren't passing (and thus, won't promote to high school) have decided to make teacher's lives a living hell (seriously- what CAN we do to them? Fail them?). This past weekend Chris and I celebrated our 2 year anniversary of dating. The actual date is the 13th (yup, Friday the 13th), but we decided to do it a week earlier, based on our schedules.

I've been back at home (in Murrieta) since Tuesday. I know- a whopping 2 days, but it's been tough! I've been at Chris' house, with his amazing family, and friends all over the place that I can go to and hang out with whenever I wanted to. My grandmother passed away around 3 AM this morning. My dad called me around 8 to let me know. I'm doing all right- I drove to Chris' house yesterday to be here for a friends' birthday tonight, so he was here to comfort me this morning. I'm looking for some advice. I absolutely love working at Mount Palomar (the winery I started at in June when I moved down here), but I'm wondering if I should quit. Yesterday was the end of the first grading period. I can't believe I've already been teaching for 6 1/2 weeks! It's gone by so quickly! I just got an e-mail from my mom in Seattle. My grandmother's brain tumor is back, and the prognosis is not looking good. The doctors told her when she was diagnosed in April that she had 9 months to a year- best case scenario. Right now, with my first year in school underway and all, I just don't know how much more I'll be able to take. I'm hoping ( Read more... )
