Blackhawk was Fun!
Left for Blackhawk with the neighbors & their mother-in-law early Wednesday a.m, Daughter came over to dog/house sit. Temp was insane below zero! Not many cars on the road, and hardly anyone brave enough to be up gambling.
Had breakfast at the Lodge. Since the other three have club cards there, and we’re all over 50, breakfast was free! Can’t beat ( Read more... ) -
Vacation - Day 6
Ach! I’m over the halfway mark…ex-tooth is doing okay. A little swelling, but very little pain, for which I am very grateful.
Got up at 6ish to let out dogs and feed the cat, then crashed on the couch for awhile. Finally gave that up and went back to bed. Slept til 10, then showered and now I’m getting ready to head downtown to meet MCC & KG for ( Read more... ) -
Vacation, Day 5 - Ow!
Today would have been my dad’s 98th birthday! Happy birthday, Daddy!
Started the day virtuous; went to Curves early and worked out. Then home to let out dogs and then to the dentist for an extraction and bone graft. Getting it ready for an implant next year. The novacaine’s wearing off…
Stopped by Kaiser to get all the prescriptions filled that Doogy ( Read more... ) -
Vacation - Day 4 - Late Again!
I have a brain like a sieve...forgot to post again last night...
So far today I’ve slept in, finally got up at 10:30, took a quick shower and dressed, drank a day-old cup of reheated coffee and got myself off to The Spot to meet Val for my birthday lunch.
Sat & gabbed for 3 hours! Such a nice lady she is. Can’t fasthom why Pete ever divorced her!

Uncle G called this afternoon. His mother died today. Damn! What a couple of years.

Vacation, Day 2
I am so tired, and my legs are sore and my knees hurt! Vacation is hard!
Got the sink area in the kitchen ready for neighbor B to start doing whatever he needs to do to get my dishwasher installed. While I was emptying the spice rack and medicine shelves that hubb iebuilt (and cleaning out under the sink), B replaced my burnt out brake light and ( Read more... ) -
Vacation, Day 1
Dammit! Forgot to post last night...
Got off work at 7 a.m. and wove my way home through the Denver Marathon barricades. I thought to go to the Handle Bar again for breakfast, but didn’t want to drive through the mess to get there, and was too lazy to walk. Better for my diet that I didn’t go.

Snowed Today
First snow of the season...just a little moisture, but still flakes. Broke down and turned on the furnace. The little space heater wasn't cutting it anymore. Monday, I took the a/c out of the bedroom window so I could shut the window. I miss the fresh air, though it's much warmer. Just to let you know...
On August 2nd, I got home from work about 9:20 a.m. and found my beloved dead on the couch. He'd just been outside talking to the neighbor not 15 minutes before. Very sudden. From the autopsy, it turns out he had almost 90% blockage in 2 of his arteries...something we had no clue about.
I was and am devastated. He was the love of my life.
