Why o why o why o why am I majoring in chemistry? Seriously, this semester is beating me up...and it's hardly started yet. Biochem exam did not go nearly as well as I had hoped - I'm struggling a bit because it's been six years since I had any biology at all - although I really thought I'd understood the first exam material. I found that PBS has the entire miniseries of Nova's "The Elegant Universe" (hosted by string theorist Brian Greene) online. From rewatching it I have made the discovery that the sound effect they use for the strings is the same sound effect that the toaster cylons in Battlestar Galactica make when they do their eye-scans ( Read more... )
