Now Is This Not Ridiculous

Dear LiveJournal,

I felt that it was important to inform you of my exact location at this moment. I am at an Iolanthe dress rehearsal. I am currently in a little wooden fort covered in shimmery blue material, meant to serve as a body of water, from which I will make my entrance. This will happen in about 10-15 minutes, after the overture and ( Read more... )

Dude, I have officially developed a serious complex about this show, which has been true all through the rehearsal process as I recalled your ordeal. My paranoia has been severely sharpened since my mom had a medical emergency a couple of weeks ago that threatened, in order ( ... )

Whoa. That'll teach me to ignore your comments for too long...Glad to know your mom is okay! Tell her I said hi (assuming she has the slightest clue who I am) and I'm happy to know she's doing alright.

Your name was dropped in conjunction with a similar quotation at rehearsal last night. Would you like to share the story with the class LiveJournal?

I had nothing to do with it! Seriously though, the story is rather unremarkable, told here. But to sum up, the overture was happening, video night was going according to plan, when suddenly there came a very LOUD grinding noise for around 7-10 seconds if I remember it right. The crowd saw nothing, because the main curtain hadn't yet been raised. The orchestra players and Steve the MD were kind of freaked though. And yes, it is very audible on the DVD, loud and clear. But Ron the tech GOD (yes, you can tell him I called him that) found a way to get it back up before the main curtain was raised. We figured that instead of my regular wardrobe curse, in exchange for my pants falling, fate made the fire curtain fall. ;-)

Curious, the checkout girl in the co-op handed us a flyer for Iolanthe this lunchtime, but I doubt very much it's the same one... Have fun!

That's awesome.

I once posted during a performance of the Act I Finale of The Mikado, but I was backstage. So I think you win!

Given the extreme common interest and the fact that we're on a pleasing path toward being better friends, it's too bad you'll have to miss the show! Quite understandable, given the geographic constraints, but still, too bad. We should try that IMing-during-the-day thing again sometime, I enjoyed our brief foray into that pattern.

Agreed on all counts! I wish I could make it to the show. I'm getting on AIM right now...
