Locked comms. Do people on LJ have a right to lock a community and expect the people who are members to respect the privacy of that community?

first of all I just wanted to say I strongly dislike Sauli ... and any other "celeb" like him ... IDC who he´s dating or whatever.. I just have strong dislike of ppl like him ..

now, I know there are some crazy people on both sides of the camp and Sberts are screaming cray over Tommyberts and Tommyberts are screaming cray over Sberts ... man, it´s so tiring...

I´d really like for ppl stopped generalizing shit and that being a fan of one or the other didn´t automatically make you a fucking nutcase in the eyes of the opposite site ...

thank god I am stanning other shit cause if I had to play only in this fandom I´d go batshit ....

This so much. Fandom is for fun. Fanfic is for fantasy. I don't begrudge anyone their fantasy. Just enjoy what you love, avoid what you don't. How hard is that????

Thanks for speaking up. <3

I have to admit that years ago I would check out fandom_wank myself. Mostly just to see what was happening and at the time there was several rather large HP shitfests going on, so it was as a catch up really. And they were pretty wanky, but the one thing I did respect was that if you wanted to post anything, or have the mods post it, you had to be able to back it up with unlocked information. The locking facility was there for a reason - to enable some form of privacy online, where once it's posted and public it's there forever ( ... )

"And this argument that least the nanny-comm is out there for all to see and so that makes it so much better than a locked comm is bullshit, because the hate is there for all to see but unless someone owns it, then they're hiding deeper than anyone in a locked comm."

First let me say how much I love you for this comment. Everything you've said, especially the quote above, is 100 percent on point. Anyone attempting to justify what the cowardly fye anons do is probably an anon themselves. I pity anyone who has to hide behind an anon mask. If your going to attempt to bully, mock, and intimidate do so under your internet identity...own your shit.

Basically I agree with everything you say here. I call them nannies because they think they are the only ones who know what's right and that they have to scold everyone else. /o\ Plus they are hypocrites. I'm not speaking of everyone there but the overall tenor of the place is like that, so... yeah.

I really don't need to read comments about me being cray and disgusting merely for thinking someone is trying a little too hard to look like someone else) Exactly - this is is not fucking murder or something, for crying out loud. The fandom police need to get the fuck over it. Even youth isn't always the reason for the immaturity over there - some of these are grown-ass women.

unless someone owns it, then they're hiding deeper than anyone in a locked comm A+ comment.

We came to the fandom for fun, and that's why I'm still here. I'm going to keep looking for the fun and enjoying my friends in the fandom, like you. <3

Thanks for sharing your thoughts, it's greatly appreciated.

i love what you said. i don't think much one way or another about SO's, because i'm here for the music, the fic & the pretty - sometimes the SO's work into that, sometimes they don't. as long as they're happy in the moment, i'm good. i am glad both Adam & Tommy have someone right now. i had to comfort my sister through turning 30 without someone in her life & it wasn't fun or pretty ( ... )

Thanks for adding your thoughts. I am so completely in favor of the fourth wall. In some ways if I could do away with Twitter I would, although it's here to stay in one form or another. I suppose the wall will break down further... not good in my opinion.

Best to concentrate on the fun stuff. They are pretty boys, we enjoy the fic and the music, que sera, sera.

Forgot to add, ILU for saying this: the idea that it's the responsibility of any of the principals to police their fans is ridiculous. it's not their job to break up our playground fights.

Hello, Darling!

Really, really, really long time, no see.

I, I, I, what on earth have you got your self in the middle of. I can feel the solid-block mascara (is that something my mum mythologised) treacling around me aggressively. Is this new fandom a friendly arena?

Yes, I am shit. Yes, I am much absent.

Hello?
