It was the best of weekends, it was the worst of weekends

I pretty much spent the weekend hanging out with friends and having a good time. Lyon came up from CA, Rottydog came out from eastern oregon, and the rest of the gang took over Wolftales' place for the weekend. There was much alcohol and awesome foods made by Lyon consumed. The hot tub got a workout, Lucy did much barking and Magnum burned off many ( Read more... )

Dear "George" has served many a person/furson well over the past decade+. But hes' getting on in years, and it'll only be a matter of time before hes' called forth to that Big Ole scrapyard in the sky;P.

Having own place is undoubtly a great thing...that said, it can also be hell. And right now with the way the housing index and mortage sector is worked agains the prospective owner, I don't know how they expect anyone to even try for it. Anyway..but yea I'm aware they aren't as insane in the housing sector, up in the Northwest, as they are in California. Much luck with that dude, hope it pans out for you and you get a decent place:).

Yea this thing is nice and big but it''s also a beast to move :p ...I imagine he'll be around a bit longer though!

The housing market here isn't too bad here yet, but wow I feel bad for some people down there, I hope they can ride it out!

Or you could move your sorry ass down here and live near folks that call you a friend and go wheeling all the time *pokes and grins*

*sigh* If things werent finally going so well up here, I probably would. I wish I had sense enough to move out of this area long ago when I didn't really have any reason to stay =(

You better bring your 4runner when you come up!

Bah, I love to visit, still don't think I wanna live there ;p

If I didn't have this job, at this point I probably would move down just to try it for a while.

I agree yet disagree. You could get a house pretty cheep in California, and be around a bunch of friends down here, but you have a lot of friends up there too. You could bite the bullet and move George into a trailer park short term until you can buy a place; it is still cheap livin' that allows dogs.

I hope you can get a good mortgage loan set up though. You have a "first time buyer" advantage, but right now the mortgage companies are nervous as hell. Keep in mind that buying a place usually takes 1 month of escrow or more, so moving from where you are directly into a house may not work.

Also, I'm really not sure that they can kick you out with such little notice. Most states require 30 days written notice minimum. That could buy you a little time.

I was surprised how hard it was to find a park that would take dogs the first time I moved. I ended up 20 miles north of Portland. I do have a few short term living plans as I understand the whole house buying experience takes some time. It feels like my head is spinning from all the reading I've been doing the past couple days.

WA only requires 20 days, so he's doing it by the books.
