Well first off, it's Goalie...you still have me blocked from posting.
Secondly, I think it's great you decided to quit, I am getting ready to begin that process myself. J has been on me to and I think I am ready.
All of my suggestions use candy, which I know you can't really turn to. But if you can, you might try Licorice. It worked for me when I tried to quit before.
Either way, good luck sweetie...hope you are doing well...

Thank you both for your insight and support. I can probably swing eating a little candy a day, but like you said, it's more challenging in my case. I'll check out some of the low-carb licorices out there. By the way, I'm proud of you.
Oral Satisfaction, anyone?beetlefuckJuly 28 2004, 21:08:22 UTC
I agree with all of the above, and have one more insight for you in the way of advice from an old acting teacher:
She used to tell us after a big audition, whether you do well or not, plan a reward for yourself and actually give it to yourself as a present.
Think of something you really, really want: a new CD player, a nite out on the town, get a manicure, etc. Set your goal, go for it and then, ahhhhhh! A really sweet reward.
Sweetie, if goalie and I can stay clean as long as we have, you can quit smoking.

I think a reward would help me. Maybe a series of rewards for milestones. Like, every time I want to smoke during the first week I'll get a soda instead, or take a walk or something. Then after 6 months I get ... what do I want? Argh.
Detox tea. Remember to start drinking that shit like water, the quicker the nicotine is out of your body the better. Rice & potatoes as well, the carbs help alot. Ginseng is also great for lung regeneration.
You guys should come up tonight or tomorow so we can chain smoke our nicotine together for the last time!!!!!!!!
