Heating with wood does have it's drawbacks; for one, it is not automatic, the firewood fairies do not get up first thing in the morning to stoke it up, nor do they lay on the last log of the night to keep the ambient temperature up. Day One
Here I am, at the time I would usually be getting ready for work, enjoying a late brunch of a veggie omelet, and a cup of hot tea. I never want to hear this Christmas song again
It was played this morning on the radio, and it made me cry. Now, I still tear up and I can't get it out of my head. It is called "The Cat Carol" If there is anything in the world that cuts me right to the core is the thought of small animals out in the cold.

Dan and I are planning our 2nd annual Solstice/Christmas/Channukah open house. It is two weeks from tomorrow and we have our work cut out for us.
