Of holidays and dark days and pay raises and art
I am grateful that I get to spend this Christmas with both my chosen family - headlouse , nifercritter and sfslim - and also with my birth family (well, kinda, if you count marriages..). I'll be spending Christmas Eve and Christmas Morning at Riverton, and Christmas Day with my sister-in-law and her parents. Chatting with Jonesy and Mr. Nightshade this morning, over brunch of deliciousvwaffles, bacon, eggs and coffee, I made an offhanded comment about going out all weekend. I remarked at how I'm surprisingly coherent after two nights of getting in past 3am, debauchery, drinking and general social mayhem.

I am proud to be an American. I am proud we elected Barack Obama, though I know he's not perfect. He's a huge step up, and I think his presidency can go a long ways towards repairing our position and reputation on the world stage.
