We made it through yesterday with Debby.  It rained non-stop here for at least 24 hours and the atmosphere was gray and thick, and everything outside was devoid of color it seemed.  Once in the afternoon I looked out back and saw a bird at one of the tube feeders.  I took a picture and this is what I got….

I was on my way up to the “nest” at Robinson Preserve recently and I could see a turtle on the road ahead of me.  It was pretty good size, maybe 8” long on the shell.    I took a few pictures from the car and then went to park so I could try and make sure it got across the road.  I was back in less than a minute and he was gone.  I looked into the ( Read more... )

While wandering around the pond the other day I took some close ups of a Night Heron.
First three are normal head shots of the immature Night Heron.  The last one shows a normal eye and the other, well..... a double eyeball.  ???  HELP ME.... I'm baffled by this!
