That girl looks very drunk (and has an unfortunate wet spot all over her leg).

Out of curiosity, what is a "short run" and what is a "long run"? And how long do you normally bike?

That wet spot was from the beer she knocked over. Almost instantaneously, a towel flew across the premises in her direction.

Short runs are 4-5 miles during the week. Longer runs are 7+ miles. I'm trying to increase my long run mileage gradually, by 1-2 miles per week,

Weekday bike rides are 6-13 miles of hill climbing - totally depends on the time I have that day.

Weekends, it's hard to say. I should be doing more roadbiking - especially longer rides with flatter terrain that allows me to spin. I'm just enjoying mountain biking way too much right now.

You know it! The cultural wasteland of the South Bay ensures we all party like rockstars every night-- 'cause nuthin' else is ever going on. . . Although I couldn't quite place the particularly fine establishment pictured above. . . *scratches head*

Brittania Arms on Alamden.

Every time I've been in South Bay, I've had a good time. If I don't find myself back in school soon, I may be migrating...

That's a blast from the past! I haven't been there in about four years. We still occasionally hit the Brit in Cupertino for old time's sake and/or TNT fundraisers.

There have been "public service" commercials over here showing that it's often the short journeys and those closest to home that people are caught out. You know the road and whether you're aware of it or not, are a little more complacent. Just get in to the habit of putting on the belt before you start your engine. It's a real pain that you got stopped but I hope that you getting stopped this one time changes your belting up habit and keeps you safer.
