So something kind of cool happened to me yesterday afternoon- I was interviewed by NPR for a pending story.

It all started with an innocuous comment on the NPR Facebook page regarding hyphenated names. Working the medical industry, I have dealt with my fair share of crazy names and it never fails that the people with more than one last name usually ( Read more... )

Yesterday was a ca-razy day from start to finish, mostly involving a dog.

My MIL had a schnauzer for several years until the poor little guy had a heart attack on the foot of her bed in the middle of the night last August. That was fairly traumatic as you can probably imagine. I called my friend Anna who works at a vet's office to ask her opinion ( Read more... )

Nearly ten years ago I started my first live journal account at 20 years old. I chronicled a long relationship, job changes, and a move to North Carolina. My last entry was a tenetive account of my budding relationship with a man who surprised me with his kindness and attentiveness. Since April of this year that man is now my husband.
