it's fun getting to know friends better over wine and pizza. But some days there is no substitute for the friends you have known eight, ten and seventeen years. There are just some things you can't possibly say unless you are talking to the people who don't judge you despite the fact that you are tipsy, overly sentimental, and possibly nuts.

Just woke up from being chased by a cannibal while caring for a group of school children amongst papier mache giants. I locked him in the bathroom but that didn't hold him for long, and then my alarm woke up and now I feel all weird. Best go splash water on my face and get coffee.

Heh, just cheered myself up. I was putting together a list of publications for writing based job apps and realised that if you google 'Bridport Prize - Vanessa Cross' it does take you to the page where my poem is listed. First link and everything. Course, you have to scroll for ages to see my name. But it's there.
