OOC - Feeling the Love

Jan 20, 2006 18:18

I got a surprise email from a lurker. He apparently followed me here from fanfiction and has enjoyed my Mystique RP narratives with her and Toad. I know I amuse the heck out of myself, but it's neat to find out a random stranger finds me funny enough to wade through memes and RP specific prompts for the sake of an occasional laugh. Feedback always ( Read more... )

Completely agree. It's such an ego-stroke, but you deserve it.

Heh, I owe so many people fanfiction. I used to be a rabid ficcer before I found LJ RP. I remember writing for weeks, going through pages and pages of drafts for a two page Tom/Cain fic, and getting two comments (though admittedly, I'd be hard-pressed to choose a more unpopular pairing).

You're too kind.

My OTP was Nightcrawler/Scarlet Witch. TJ makes me want to see those two wacky kids get together, though I suspect that'll never happen in 616 what with Wanda having the mental stability of a whack-a-mole. I cried emo tears when I saw the rabid popularity of Kuroro in comparison. :D

Nothing broke my heart so much as Juggernaut/She-Hulk fic. Augh. Augh. AUGH.

I wrote a bit of Wanda/Kurt in my time.

At least they're in the same size and weight class. :) (I don't read She-Hulk, so I don't really know anything about their relationship.)

Wanda/Kurt is where ficcers go to feel the angst-free love. After all, we all know it ended happily ever after. I've noticed everyone who touches on them either writes a first meeting, the wedding, or TJ's birth. It's all happy stuff. I don't think I'd want to read them all grim.

Your confession makes me want to check yours out. You show me yours and I'll show you mine.

I am completely with you here. I would spend days working on a piece only to get three comments of "wowmrekthnxbai" and bitter taste of resentment in my mouth.

RP is immediately gratifying and cuts the effort.

I love your Raven. She's so contradictory. Half the time Star wants to sit and talk with her and the other half he'd like nothing more than pulling her into small pieces and stringing her intestines over the place. You do a lovely job.

I'm such a hipocrite, because I still love READING the fic. I feel like I ought to contribute back... but then I get sucked into RP and somehow just never find the time.

That dance scene with Star was priceless. I wish there were more logical excuses to RP with you. If she and 'Star were on the same side, I think they'd get along swimmingly. Darn that pesky moral compass of his! :D I love having Spiral thrown into the mix as the reason for their uneasy truce.

I always leave feedback, because I know, as a writer, how frustrating it is to get nothing worth reading in response.

God, it's not even his moral compass, which really isn't that crash hot anyway. They got on fine until her commetns about the slavery and degradation and abuse of his people and after that...

Star can hold a grudge.

The dance was awesome. They need more excuses to be forced together to talk. ::nods::

Oh, I leave feedback. I'd feel like scum if I didn't. I just don't leave fic anymore. :D

Heh heh...I have to admit, I love having someone around who takes her seriously as a villain. Most of the time, she's treated as "that embarassing auntie who gives TMI." I'm cool with that, because otherwise she'd have no one to play with. However, I relish the chance to play other aspects of her. Star gives her that chance.

I've read Evil!Mystique, Reformed!Mystique, ResentfulSidekick!Mystique, SluttyX-ManDeflowerer!Mystique, MurderingMaternal!Mystique but honey?

You're the best of them all. I lucked out HUGELY on interacting with you and the rest of our Marvel circle as the noobie on the block. I shall commence with "oooh!" over this Star/Raven dance scene as soon as I find it, (have been scrolling through a month's worth of backlog entries to catch up to everything).

I was only here a couple weeks when you showed up. We're both noobs.

Flattery will get you everywhere. I've missed your 'Ro. Any time you'd like to pick up with our Ragin' Roadtrip, say the word. I'll be happy to set up a post.

Star deserves some serious props on that dance scene. You can find it here.

Yeah, feedback is seriously cracktastic. I gave up on ficcing early on...because I sucked mostly. I like the interaction of RPing, I like playing to the crowd, the "That's Entertainment!" of it. You play a seriously fantastic Mystique...perfect, actually.

When I did the Sages thing, I *always* got all happy if I got a ton of comments. But then, I'm an attention whore.

Who here isn't an attention whore? That's half the fun.

Look at me, damnit, for I am clever.

And yeah, the interaction makes it a lot more interesting - and more fun.

I must agree with what others have said, your wit and writing are fab! Your Mystique is the best out there, canon or not!
And I know exactly what you mean about doing fics, I too write some fanfic now and then. And it drives me nuts when you spend so much time and effort into a fic and no one seems to read it, except for two or three people. Yet some Author who spent maybe an hour on some re-hashed peice of crap, gets a ton of reviews ~_~.

*laughs* Spiral would be struck dumb if she found out she was considered a 'peacemaker', in any way.

Ha! Peacemaker! Peacemaker! Peacemaker!

We should conspire to have Spiral, Star and Raven try to do something together. It'll end in bloodshed - but if Star plays his cards right, he could probably talk the pair of us into offing someone vaguely appropriate instead of randomly available. :)

And I hope you know that's not just a gun in her pocket. Raven's ALWAYS happy to see Spiral.

*all six hands pointing to herself* "Who? Me!?" *blink, blink*

True, true... I just don't know how we would get Shatterstar willingly into the same room with Raven and Spiral, let alone talk to both.

*laughs* Love the new icon, by the way!

It's a House of M icon, believe it or not. I can't see many contexts where I could use it, but it makes me laugh.
