The Huntington Cinema Art Center came through for those of us who were desperate to see Brokeback Moutain. It began at the theater today, and Rose, ABNS and Cousin J and I made plans to see it. I am a bit disappointed with mainstream cinema these days. Where is Brokeback Mountain?!?! You read about it, you see specials about it, you hear every reviewer praising it up and down…there is talk of Oscars for director Ang Lee, and introverted cowboy Heath Ledger, so why can’t I visit my local theater and see this award worthy love story? I know I have previously mentioned my issues with my “rake loving” neighbor. Well since August 1st, when I saw him taken away in an ambulance, he has been diagnosed with lung cancer that spread to his spine and his brain. That was 18 days ago.
