Reading an obit for Norman Mailer,

Norman once got into a heated argument with Gore Vidal, and ended up punching him out.  As Mailer stormed/was dragged off, Vidal was helped to his feet, nursing his tender jaw.  "Words failed him " he pouted "... as usual".
