so i kind of got stuck on this meme because i changed a bunch of questions around and didn't notice that day 13 and 14 are essentially the same and answering the same prompt twice in a row-particularly one that's not particularly good-made me tired all over. so i'm going to interpret this prompt (which is to say, my own) as 'song that you are going to subject people to even though they probably won't like it very much'.
(also, because windows is the devil, i lost a bunch of files, including the answers to all the prompts i sketched out before i started this meme just to make sure i could do it)
but i love these songs, especially the first one. i've basically said this already when i posted this very video a while ago, but i love how waits looks like he's going to stomp a hole right through to the earth's core. i love his howling, marlboro red ravaged, whiskey soaked voice. i love the line 'come down off the cross / we can use the wood'. i love when he messes up how he starts plunking out some random, nervous notes that provide the perfect emotional backdrop to his defiant mea culpa. somehow that seems like less of a contradiction when you listen to his music. and watch his various turns at big screen glory. who else could pull off a benevolent satan quite like waits?
