Well, my job search continues as my two month anniversary of unemployment quietly comes and goes.  I've had five interviews so far and two seem very encouraging.  I'm hoping those two will lead to a second interview in the very near future (as in any day now *hint* dear Lord please *hint ( Read more... )

Well, lost my job two weeks ago and am on the prowl for a new one.  Need to kick it in high gear and get moving.  Resume is almost where I want it and cover letters are slowly taking form.  I will have this all completed by the end of the week and will start my plan of attack!

Life hasn't been so good lately.  Bottom line, I could very well be losing my job.  The governor had to make cuts to balance the state budget and our organization took a hit.  Not as much as originally predicted but still a significant hit.  (The public libraries of our state already lost 20% of their budgets for this year.  Another 11% was taken ( Read more... )

I'm back from Ohayocon and it was a blast.  It seemed larger this time- more people there, more things to do.  The snow and ice we were hit with a few days before Ohayocon melted enough that driving up and back weren't a big deal (actually, I rode shotgun, someone else did the driving).

A co-worker of mine died this week unexpectedly and it has me sad and kinda depressed.  She was fine a few days ago, bouncing around and in a good mood, happy about Christmas.  Two days later, she died and we're not sure why.  She was only two years older than me ( Read more... )

Well the holidays are upon us.  Thanksgiving was fun and not too strenuous.  Christmas shopping is almost finished.  I'm also crafting a few gifts and am on the last one (knit one, purl two...).  I'm allergic to malls this time of year.  I try and avoid them until after New Year's.  Had to go last week though.  What a zoo!  Putting up Christmas ( Read more... )

Well the holidays are here.  I'm actually looking forward to Thanksgiving.  It's just myself and my uncle so dinner will be easy, especially with the crock pot (I love my crock pot).  Even found mince pie, didn't think I could short of making it myself.  I hope everyone has a good holiday as well.  Take care.

Many of you may not care, but I found out there will be an Underworld 4 movie.  I really enjoyed the first two.  I probably watch them once or twice a year, usually around Halloween.  Now, I'm not saying they are cinematic masterpieces by any stretch.  They aren't.  There are plot holes you could drive a Mac truck through not to mention some ( Read more... )
