am i a grown-up yet?

Jun 24, 2009 18:28

if food can be a measure of maturity, i think i'm officially a big kid now. For some bizarre reason I am no longer able to eat massive amounts of candy, i stopped drinking soda, and artificial strawberry flavoring is no longer a staple in my diet (aren't you proud, Christine?). I mean obviously, i still like candy, i just can't eat as much. I made ( Read more... )

i realized i was a grown-up when everything that i ate as a kid/teenager made my stomach hurt. fuck you, dairy, sugar, excessive bread consumption, soda, caffeine, marshmallows, pretzels ( ... )

haha aww :( sometimes learning the hard way helps the lesson stick with you though. but yeah, reading your entries and having attended a few family weddings recently, i realize how stressful even one extra guest could be while dealing with an already stressful event. so i feel pretty ok with my decision now. thank you for etiquette advice!

mary jo's - not terribly surprising if you think about it. if i were religious enough to save it for marriage i would be ready to get married to the first suitable applicant

well if you didn't invite him just because of that one link and his reaction, that sucks, i'm sorry he got so weird guy-y.

if you didn't invite him because you just didn't want to, it's your friends and you'll be a slight bit more free just going solo and sticking with the friends you knew then, then reunion time of course. feel freer.

i guess i was exaggerating his reaction. really he just didn't say anything about it, which i took to mean it freaked him out. or perhaps he didn't want to talk about it.
at any rate, i'll be in houston this weekend and it'd be lovely to see you if you are available.

YES! So Malibu rum has been expunged from your diet and my life? And I very much agree with the Minimalist cookbook... have you tried the "How to cook everything Vegetarian"? It's pretty spectacular too.

I don't know why Matt would be touchy. It's not like you sent him an ad that you must get from fb that reads something like "GIVE HIM THE HINT FOR DIAMONDS" with a gaudy engagement ring on a ring finger. Ugh, Every time I look at my fb in front of Robert I cringe at the ads on the sidebar. Anyway, I think that wedding cake programming thing would be funny...

Also, I will make the lavash soon! And anything else on your blog. I brought back a bunch of za'atar from Israel and I have yet to use it. I actually have a batch of ciabatta proofing right now so I will probably have enough carbs for the next few days (4 loaves enough?) but after that I will for sure be making lavash.

Happy Baking,
- Christine.

Oh, would you like a loaf of ciabatta? I certainly don't need to eat all these loaves my self (though we all know I could...)
