...when I saw my neighbor, who is an alcoholic, standing in his driveway drinking in the rain when I came home from work. I hadn't seen him around in a couple of days, so he must have been on a binge somewhere. He was sitting on his stoop (after drinking from the hose,) waiting for his wife to come home from work. I knew there was going to be ( Read more... )

Sadly, nothing will help someone who doesn't truly want to be helped.

It must be hard to see something like that happening to someone, and feel helpless to stop it...

I can imagine the wait is killing you! Did they give you any idea when they'll make a decision?

Watch that lobelia- you know how she likes to peek in windows at hobbits :-)

No, they haven't said and I'm afraid to ask. It's a bit awkward....

Which is why I watch him when I see him hanging around. One time he turned the sprinkler on when it was pouring rain and then left. It was on for hours, his wife said. He grew up in our house, so I am always a bit worried he might try to come in here.

Watching somebody slowly drink themselves to death is horrible. I've seen it. - Let's hope for a miracle and that you're neighbour somehow gets off the booze.

*crosses fingers* I hope you will get the job. Am thinking positive thoughts for you. *grins*

I know the waiting is killing you, hon!
Why don't you try to write some porny S/F too distract your self? *winks*

I'm sorry for your neighbour but I'm sorrier (more sorry?) for his wife.*hugs*

*looks for elusive plot bunny* Mmmm, F/S.... Love your icon, BTW!

I am sorry for his wife, too. She has put up with so much over the past two years.
