The Purple Kitchen is no more.  And the house has been sold. It closes on April 27th, 2012.

I've been in Seattle for almost a year.  You can follow my new house blog here.  

Feed the bunnies.  Feed the kitties.  Turn on the espresso machine.  Pour cereal.  Pour milk.

I try to imagine these in different kitchens. Different hallways.  Different bedrooms.

Out in the Sheddio you can find many lovely things.  Amongst the most wonderful is the stash of essential oils.  Last November at the beginning of my grieving, I made some blends that have been helpful.  I'm spending time today tidying up the Sheddio and found the worksheet for those blends.  Bergamot, chamomile and marjoram for grief.  Marjoram ( Read more... )

Not long after my last entry my world exploded.  There is a Midlife Crisis going on.  One of the many results is that I have to lose my home.  Next year at this time, I will be somewhere, but I don't know where.

There has been painting going on that hasn't been done by me.  Blues and green in the bedroom...

John put on this beautiful crystal doorknob on the door to Lake Bun E. right after it was completed about 4 years ago.  The blue wall color is new.

He chose the colors, figured out the layout, construction details and communicated clearly with the contractor. and got gift certificates for the holidays to buy coordinating stuff.  The men who did the work are amazing as is the man who coordinated it all.  The end of the shower - where the partition wall used to be - will be glass.  It looks so ( Read more... )

The bathroom in the front part of the house has been re-done.  It is gorgeous.  It used to be the most unfortunate of the 40s - 50s tile color combinations - peachy-drab with maroon accents.  And it had a redonkulously tiny tub.  And the walls were gross - painted-over wallpaper.  We had a nice counter and sink put in a few years ago, but it was ( Read more... )
