Did the MS Bike Ride today.  monsoon downpour rains at 7am, which made for a very soggy girl the rest of the day.  However, the ride was great, especially zipping through the tunnel to NJ.  the first mile is on a decline, and I hit 30mph, then the second mile is an incline, so the momentum was nice to  have on my side.

 i helped lead a kids' bike ride for underprivileged Brooklyn kids today.  good times.  i have a farmer tan from my cycling jersey, and have no shame about it - wore a dress with flutter sleeves out to dinner (Red Bamboo on west 4th.  tasty.).  met a cute guy on the ride, had a 50 year old ask for my number.  dodged it, as we were riding over ( Read more... )

i did the autism Mansion bike ride today in 94-degree heat.  unreal.  so satisfying, though.  i love my bike.  and i finished in the first 30, which was the top 10%.  which is great, because it was my first ride and i didn't train for it.  :)

 fun:  NYSC at 6am.  the revolving staircase (not to be confused with the stepper) kicks my ass every time, but I keep going back for more ( Read more... )
