Ok, as promised, I'm following up. Unfortunately I was hoping I'd have some visceral proof to tie me to the accomplishment, but alas, it didn't play out that way. The short version is that I found and removed a source of latency buried deep deep down in a critical process.. I made the holy grail of software fixes at work yesterday. All the way up the chain of command, I'm being heralded as a hero. I'll explain more once it goes live.

I'm flying back to the East Coast on Friday. I've been busy getting stuff done, but I have a new apt and a new job (if I didn't mention before). However, I expect to have a 'net blackout starting today or tomorrow and ending when I can get service installed in the new place.
