My son is 4 months...drooling, teething. He has a spot in the back of his mouht that feels like a tooth. The pediatrician says it's an absess. He said nothing else. Doesn't an absess sound bad??

I have two daughters, a 19-mo-old and a 1-mo-old. The little one seems to be a real high needs baby... crying a lot, often difficult to soothe and sometimes impossible to soothe. Because my DD doesn't like to be put down at all...I think it's wise for me to invest in a sling. Except...I know nothing about shopping for one of these. I can't use a Snugli carrier or anything like that because of my size. I'm 5'3" and about 200 pounds.

Can anyone point me in the right direction...or offer any tips?

When should you introduce a plate or bowl to your toddler? My 14.5 month old just wants to dump her food off of them and throw them on the floor. Also, any hints as to how to stop her from throwing food in general on the floor?
