We had a power failure today from 9:30 am until mid afternoon. We had cukes and cherry tomatoes for veg at lunch and did some coconut curry sausages on the bbq. I wasn’t really in the mood for cold vegetables. Ate them anyway. I thought the power might go out overnight when the storm wind and rain were to begin. Turns out it was rather pleasant

Yesterday someone nearby had drawn a rangoli on their driveway with chalk. It was only in white chalk, but it was lovely to see a Happy Diwali message (I'm assuming by one of the household children as the writing was quite naive).

I lost power for a couple minutes last night, but not even enough to need to reset my clocks. It's a shame you didn't like the meal options without power, but I do find that losing power for a short interval when it's not extremely hot or cold, with nothing urgent happening, is kind of like a little vacation from the modern world that forces you to get back into analog activities for a minute. As a kid I really liked losing power for a bit in the evening and having to light candles instead. Mood!

It is kind of nice when the power goes out, you realize just how much background noise your appliances make.
