Who's Responsible? You f**king are!!

I'm feeling totally broken! Have spent most of this evening knocking together a mesh door for the rat shed, as it was just getting far too hot in there for the poor things, followed by cage cleaning, playing with Ari's babies and then finally actually having time to eat just now!!

I felt really terrible actually, the shed got so hot, and the bigger ( Read more... )

Been boiling here today too - funnily enough the girlies didn't seem to mind, but the boys were doing slug impressions all over the cage, bless them. We did us some pea fishings x)

And I agree, it is tiring but you do what you have to do because you chose to take them on and they can't do it themselves. Or at least, that's how good people think.

my girls dont seem to have been bothered by the heat yet, the room they are in hasnt got too hot so far.

it can be exhausting especially when they get ill, but there is no way i could abandon or neglect them like that

i hope abbi and tigger are ok, and the asthma clinic goes ok, mine is usually a complete waste of time

Archie is feeling the heat alot mroe then the others but not so much, the room they are in is very airey and when i have the window open and the back door at the same time a lvoely coold breeze flows through.
Maybe Nicola if the shed is still to hot for your liking convert a spare room in the house for a temp rat room whilst we are having the nice weather :)

Good luck at the vets and asthma clinc xx

L'Oreal is ok, Greg the lovely aussie, checked her out and said just to keep checking the eye, sometimes they collect crud in the eye socket which can lead to infection, but as it is now, it's fine and gave her a clean bill of health - all info for these girls documented with the vet. I have now put Seren in with the girls, as she was giving Gavroche a bad time ( I had put Gavroche in with Velvet and Seren cos she was on her own - Seren had other ideas!) all is well and calm in the rattery!

Oh man this heat really did come out of nowhere didn't it?

Uhm hii, I recently took ownership of Logan, I think you own his mum?
I just wanted to let you know that he's calming down and has put a nice amount of weight on since I got him. He's settling in fine here, and I'm working on his twitchyness C:

This whiole rat abandonment thing is horrible :C iI'm glad the three I took in are fed and safe and cared for now.

Aww..yes, as far as I know Seren is Logan's mum, who I bred, and she's coming back to me as part of the rescue effort. Glad to hear that he's got a good home, what colour is he??

Thanks for letting me know about L'Oreal, Jayne, so glad it's nothing too serious. Will make sure I've got some eyedrops in for the poor love :o( Seren sounds like her sister Val, a bit of a stroppy mare when it comes to intros!!

Shed was lovely and cool today, despite it being the hottest day yet this week....I think the mesh door was deifinitely the answer!! Sadly I lost Tigger and Abbi though :*( He'd declined dramatically over night, and she had investigative surgery and was found to have a tummy ful of tumours. We felt it was kinder not to wake her up :*(
