Pennsic Opening Ceremonies

Every year for at least the last decade Isenfiri have been the last Atlantians in opening ceremonies. This is because Shires come after Baronies and we are the only shire to show up. Last year it was just deboraaurifex and myself (as captured so nicely in pinkleader 's photo). However, this year it looks like I might be the only one walking... so... any suggestions for ( Read more... )

Check with D&D. I think either they of Karen have the shire banners.

And I will see what I can do to get up early enough to go with you. Heather prolly will too.

It would be great to have you guys walk as well. What portion of Pennsic are you planning to be there for?

Oh, we're leaving tomorrow around noon, caravaning up with jennifer & kailo, and likely Chip. We'll be there for the WHOLE thing :)

Go to the Isenfir camp at sunrise and start lobbing water ballons into tents. :-D

If no one can locate the Shire banner, maybe Kim up at the winery would let you borrow the one on their wall.

Hmmm... I don't think I have a death wish (re: throwing water balloons)

Perhaps I'll send another query to the list to see about a banner.

If you come up empty, go to Atlantian Royal. They (usually) have banners of all the groups hanging around the inside of the gate/welcome tent. Maybe they'd let you borrow the Isenfir one for Opening Ceremonies (they are the banners that topped the palisade at Sapphire Joust/Atlantian 25th).

We discovered that Isenfir does not actually have any heraldry with Atlantian Royal. However, someone associated with that project said they would create one but I did not catch his name (nor did I recognize him). So perhaps we have one there now, but I do not know.

Sounds like fun. When it comes time to do the last part of the procession I/we'll head to the back. There is something about being able to say we were the last ones on the field.

Okay, first, I think that Christine has all the shire banners. Certainly all the ones I found over the course of moving went to her (and they were legion...)

Secondly, the wall panel for royal isn't there because it was wrong. The sword was superimposed over the mountain rather than hovering above it. I had the panel for years and never got around to fixing it. Thus far the project has been taken over by and never actually executed by me, Karen, Wayne, Karolyn, and Angelique. I *think* Angelique has it still, though don't hold me to that.

The wall panel is wrong, but there's still the small one inside the welcome tent. Remember the one we used at Opening Ceremonies at 36?

I think the guy you refer to was Bran Trefonen (apologies if I butchered the spelling.)
