I have been living in Cedar Park for 23 months, and two months ago, Contenders (Sports Bar) just opened up on Cypress Creek, (located two streets over). Well, they have a huge patio, and are open 7 days a week. You can hear music, screaming, and karaoke. What bothers me is that you hear it intensive from 11:00pm-2:00am. Well, last Monday- I had a grand mal seizure while driving. Thank God, a nurse was driving next to me, Gabriel wasn't with me, and there was little traffic. I drove into a gully of sorts. I love teaching adult ESL. I love the fact that I am not behind a desk, and I am hopefully helping someone to change their life in this country. I have immigrants, some legal and illegal, and refugees. Also, I get a sneak peek into people's cultures, and their lives. The sociologist,and traveler in me is most intrigues by my students. Finally- I heard from the program specialist for the ACC ESL dept. They offered me three classes, two at UT, and one at a Community building near Rundberg. My classes at UT are ACC classes, but this program allows the teachers to use the great classrooms, and have a tiny office to store books, prepare lessons, and do paperwork.
