Despite the fact that I knew it couldn't be literally true, of all my relatives I felt like I'd be able to count on my dad to be there for me forever. When it got to the point today that I couldn't even swallow fluids, my grandfather took me back to the hospital. Shorter wait this time because the triage nurse let me cut in line when they determined that my throat was twice as swollen as it was when I was there yesterday. I don't know what's wrong with me, and I'm starting to get scared because it's been wrong with me for a long time now and waiting patiently isn't making it better like it usually does -- if anything, it's just getting worse.

I'm a mess and I don't know where to turn. I feel like the only thing I really want isn't an option right now.

I remember once going on a small rant about the danger of tacit understandings. About how I learned my lesson with those and you should never trust them. If you believe something to be true, don't believe that others believe it true. Apparently I haven't learned my lesson at all, however.
