Change of plans?

I've admitted two things to myself recently. One, that I probably have a mild case of postpartum depression and I should probably do something about it. Two, that I know what I want to "be when I grow up". It's just that, now that I know, I'm not sure what to do about it ( Read more... )

That's cool.

Unsolicited advice that you're obviously free to ignore: Maybe it would be more financially feasible to first become a doula, work as a doula to make money, and then become a midwife? I don't really know what doula training is like, but I'm pretty sure it's less intensive/expensive than nursing school (or whatever the alternative is).

I forgot the other hindrance to my plan: a small child at home who needs me at night. Doula training I think is a year course. I could do the training in any case to see how I like it.

that seems sensible. and well done for having an aim in life -even if it seems impossible and lala, sometimes I wish I had more motivation

wow. if this is something you are really passionate about, i think it's definitely worth it to find a way to pursue it! after all, we're talking about the rest of your life here!
