I'm sorry I haven't been posting or commenting much recently. I've been too fed up, but I do read my flist daily, and I do know how everyone's doing: we're all abiding, as
manoah says.
At New Year, I started writing a 'review' of 2020, basing it on the photos I'd taken, but I gave up because it was so boring. Anyone want to see the new slippers I got on

It's SO hard to steel yourself to tell people to back away, I feel for you.

I can't ask, I just quietly back away myself. But the two blokes -- who were very nice -- had me trapped in the kitchen. And when I realised that one of them had forgotten his goggles it was like there was a lump of plutonium on the floor!

No, I've no fire and no immersion heater. A proper fire would be lovely. But... Yesterday I thought of using the tumble dryer, and it warmed the kitchen up quite a bit!

Keep abiding my dear and wearing that lovely poncho and your Christmas wraps.

How is Vancouver Island? I read the Canucks message board so I know that everyone in Vancouver's as glum as we are. I would normally be preparing for my trip there about now :-(
Thank you. It is a nice poncho, isn't it?!

The Island is fine. Most people are just hunkered down and getting as grumpy as everywhere else. Our trouble is that being on the west coast and therefore the mildest part of Canada in winter, we're getting a lot of 'snowbirds' from the eastern provinces who'd normally go south to the US. A lot of people are very unhappy about folk coming in, but in a province the size of BC it's kind of hard to enforce a border with the rest of the country - although we do have a shut border with the US which makes us all happy :)
Take care, hon.

Are the hotels open? I've been worrying that the one I stay in might go bust. I've met a lot of 'snowbirds', especially in the last couple of years, when it's been unseasonably warm. I always ask for the same room, so I actually have Vancouver neighbours! -- a couple from Toronto who spend 3 months, every winter, in the room next to mine. I'd been wondering what they were doing this year.
