Yeah, we saw Bridge to Terebithia a while back, it wasn't what we were expecting either. The trailers really played up the fantasy aspect of it, making it look like the Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, when really there wasn't that much fantasy stuff.
I really do like the look of the iPod Touch - it's basically an iPhone without the phone. Unfortunately, I'm not going to be spending that much on one. Might consider the new iPod Nano though...
Is your iMac one of the new ones with the black screen surround?
The Touch sounds nice, but it costs about the same as an iPhone and isn't available yet, otherwise I'd be tempted. The Nano is tempting too since it seems to work well for Colin. Slightly bigger screen than the old 8GB, but still pretty small.
The iPhone interface is fantastic, and apparently the touch has Wifi, and Safari, so still good value. Question is whether it is worth waiting for the iPhone to launch in NZ, especially given data charges.
My iMac is one of the older ones, all white. Still, I'm happy with it :)
Mm yeah the interface is the thing that really sets it apart, I think. But I've only recently got my new phone, which does everything I need, really. I don't need all the features of a smart-phone... though they would be nice ;) And my old first-gen iPod shuffle is feeling a bit dated now. But yeah, it would be a bit annoying to have a mobile phone separate from your mobile web-browser, etc. Heh, I'm just waiting for a company to come out with a headset accessory and Skype for the iPod touch, to make it into a phone.
My only thought on the iphone is - Generation 1 hardware. History shows what happens to those that are early adopters - they usually get burnt, they've already dropped the price on it some $200... Means a bunch of people paid the sucker tax.
Either way - I waited until then gen 5 before getting an ipod, specifically after watching the issues in earlier generations.

We have a 20GB G3, lives in the Esprit now, and Colin has a 8GB G2 Nano.
